Construction of the Chabahar-Zahedan railway was resumed

The Deputy Minister of Railway Construction of the Transportation Infrastructure Construction and Development Company announced the transfer of 63 million Euros from the resources of the National Development Fund for the construction of the Chabahar-Sarakhs railway.

The Chabahar-Zahedan-Sarakhs railway is the most important railway infrastructure project in the country with a length of 1350 km, the first part of which is 730 km long, Chabahar to Zahedan and Milk border and the second part is 760 km long. It connects Zahedan to Birjand, Mashhad, and finally Sarakhs.

Although more than a decade has passed since the life of this project, it’s laying of rails began on July 8, 2016.

The first half of 2009: Agreeing to allocate 300 million Euros from the National Development Fund to the project

The implementation of this project was so long that finally Mohammad Eslami, former Minister of Roads and Urban Development, on September 3, 2009, on the sidelines of the operation of the railway fleet, with the consent of the Supreme Leader and the former President’s order to allocate funds to this project up to 300 million Euros. The sources of the National Development Fund announced to accelerate the completion of the construction of the Chabahar-Zahedan railway by the end of 1400.
