Dr. Salehi: Due to the provision of the necessary infrastructure by the railways in the agreement between the railways and the customs, with the order of the Minister of Economy, God willing, the customs will be located in the dry port of Aprin next month.
This morning, Dr. Seyed Ehsan Khandouzi, Minister of Economy and Finance, together with Dr. Seyed Miad Salehi, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and CEO of the Railway Company, visited different parts of the dry port of Aprin.
According to the Public Relations of the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Sharifian, a representative of the people of Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Islamshahr in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and Dr. Moghaddasi, Director General of Customs and a group of managers were present at the visit. During the visit, expert and specialized discussions were held regarding the establishment of customs in Aprin.
Dr. Seyed Miad Salehi, CEO of the Railway Company, said: “Today, together with the Minister of Economy and Finance and the Head of Customs, we visited different parts of the Aprin Logistics Center.” All the provisions of the agreement between the railway company and the customs have been implemented, and we hope that the customs will be located in Aprin next month.
Dr. Salehi continued: “During the past months, we have visited the Aprin Logistics Center several times and provided the necessary infrastructure for the establishment of customs.” We needed to visit the progress of the project during the past months, and we hope that by the order of the Minister of Economy and Finance, during this visit and the establishment of customs, the Aperin railway pole will be established in the center of the country and south of the capital.
The CEO of the railway said: the launch of the dry port of Aperin and the creation of the logistics hub of Aperin will lead to the prosperity and economic development of the Islamshahr region, although in the meantime some obstacles may be removed because the interests of some may be jeopardized.
He reminded: in the first week of April this year, the first phase of the current locomotive repair depot was launched and a lot of investments have been made and we hope that with the establishment of customs in this center, the dry port of Aperin will be operational and opened.
The Director General of the Railways expressed his hope: “According to paragraphs 24 and 25 of the policies announced by the Supreme Leader in the Sixth Development Plan, with the opening of the dry railway port of Aprin, we will see the recording of other records in rail freight transportation.”
At the end of the visit, the Minister of Economy and Finance said: Islamshahr Aperin Logistics Center, which, God willing, will be active in the form of a successful dry port in the heart of the country’s transit lines, has very high capacities.
Dr. Khandouzi reminded that considering the serious efforts of the 13th government that such points can play a strategic role in the economic process of the country and the region, he continued: “Considering the imminent visit of the government delegation to Islamshahr, I considered it necessary.” Let’s look at this as one of the region’s most promising news before the trip, and we hope that by resolving these issues in the coming months, all past backlogs will be made up, and we will see the port revived and the Aperin dry port operational.
